Cognitive Behavioural Therapist | £35 P/H | Wakefield

Seven Criminal Justiceis looking for a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist Psychotherapist to work within Turning Point in Wakefield.

The role:

To work in a supportive manner, providing supervision for staff, teaching and training on issues related to mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy, evaluation responsibilities for the team, development work including specific areas of responsibility in the further development of primary care mental health services.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to work effectively with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds, understanding and respecting the impact of difference and diversity upon their lives including service and user led systems and other elements of the wider community
  • Undertake initial assessments of the mental health needs of clients referred with mental health problems
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive CBT assessment involving interview, observation, data collection and the use of relevant clinical measures
  • Able to formulate a model of therapeutic change using theory, principles and research derived from the cognitive, cognitive – behavioural and / or behavioural approaches to therapeutic change
  • With the active participation of the client, implement a therapeutic programme utilising a range of CBT methods to support clients to acquire skills to alleviate distress and enhance personal effectiveness
  • Monitor treatments effects, reinforcing client progress and adapting treatment accordingly as suggested by feedback, and collaborative problem solving
  • Evaluate client progress within collaborative relationship, preparing them for discharge from active treatment into a planned follow up process that audits clinical effectiveness through client outcome measures
  • Work within all relevant BDCT procedural guidelines and operational policies

 

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: Qualification from accredited CBT training course(minimum of post graduate level), or completion of significant experience meeting knowledge skills and attitude ( as defined at BABCP.com) at a level required for BABCP accreditation

Relevant professional qualification in a health subject or counselling e.g. Dip SW, RMN OT, PGMHW.

BABCP Accredited

Experience: 1+ years’ post qualifying experience.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours
