Healthcare Assistant

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team in Norwich. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing essential support to our healthcare professionals and ensuring excellent patient care.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Support qualified practitioners in the delivery of patient care, including all activities of daily living.

2. Maintain patients’ hygiene and comfort, with tasks such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and assisting with meals.

3. Monitor patient vital signs including temperature, pulse, and respiration under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

4. Carry out healthcare procedures such as taking blood samples, wound dressing changes, and assisting in minor operations.

5. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records, updating patient health progress to the responsible healthcare professional.

6. Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, keeping them informed about their care, and fostering a reassuring environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

1. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards the qualification.

2. Previous experience working in healthcare is advantageous but not mandatory.

3. Good communication skills, both written and oral.

4. Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

5. Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

6. Up to date knowledge of health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures.

7. High level of resilience, empathetic nature and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care.
