Non-Medical Prescriber

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to fill a vacancy in Northampton, UK.

Responsibilities:

– Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of care to patients.

– Take comprehensive patient histories, carry out physical assessments, and develop a detailed care plan for the patient, incorporating short and long term goals.

– Authorise and monitor the impact of a range of medicinal products.

– Use diagnostic aids to prescribe medicines and make proper referrals.

– Maintain an updated knowledge base in terms of prescribing and regulations.

– Offer physical and mental health advice and provide referrals to specialist services if needed.

– Conduct face-to-face and remote consultations, considering both clinical and holistic aspects of a patient’s health and wellbeing.

– Ensure safe and competent prescribing practice inline with NMC and organization’s guidelines.

– Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all patient consultations.

Requirements:

– Registered nurse or other healthcare professional on a part of the professional register.

– Independent Prescribing qualification.

– Sound clinical and diagnostic skills with a robust understanding of clinical governance.

– Excellent understanding of the legal and professional implications of independent prescribing.

– Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

– Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks.

– Commitment to continuing professional development.

– The successful candidate must have a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent.

– A minimum of two years of relevant experience is also preferred.
