Recovery Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are actively seeking a devoted and empathetic Recovery Worker to join our team based in Wandsworth, UK. The Recovery Worker will be responsible for assisting individuals on their path to recovery from mental health struggles, drug or alcohol addiction.

Responsibilities:

– Provide person-centered support to individuals to develop their independent living skills and to ensure recovery-focused outcomes are being met.

– Develop recovery plans to support individuals on their journey to maintain and improve their independence.

– Regularly review recovery plans with the service users, setting clear objectives and goals.

– Assist in the provision of one-to-one support sessions and facilitate group therapy sessions.

– Interact empathetically with service users and their families, providing emotional and practical support.

– Complete all necessary administrative duties including maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.

– Collaborate with other team members and professionals involved in providing a holistic approach to the recovery process.

– Ensure all interventions implemented are in line with care plans, supporting service users to engage with the wider community.

– Understanding, respecting, and responding to the diversity of the community by providing a culturally sensitive service.

Qualifications:

– A relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.

– Experience in supporting individuals in a recovery-focused environment.

– Demonstrated ability to work well as a member of a team.

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

– High level of patience, empathy, resilience and the ability to cope with emotionally challenging situations.

– Understanding of substance misuse, mental health, and related issues.

– Ability to work flexible hours to suit the service requirements.

– Enhanced and up-to-date DBS check.
