Recovery Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Recovery Worker to join our health and social care team in Swindon. Your primary role will be to support individuals struggling with mental health issues, addictions, or experiencing homelessness in recovering skills and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide support to individuals to help them recover from addiction or mental health problems.

2. Develop customised recovery plans for each individual based on their unique needs and circumstances.

3. Regularly record and report on progress and any changes to the individual’s condition.

4. Coordinate with other health professionals such as psychiatrists, nurses, social workers to ensure comprehensive care.

5. Encourage individuals to engage in healthy behaviours and activities such as exercise, proper diet, etc.

6. Provide crisis intervention as needed by de-escalating situations and providing reassurance.

7. Act as an advocate for individual’s rights and needs.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. A recognised qualification in social care, mental health nursing, counselling, or a related field.

2. Experience in a similar role is desirable.

3. Strong understanding and empathy for individuals with mental health issues and addictions.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

5. Strong problem-solving and crisis management abilities.

6. Ability to motivate and inspire individuals to take positive action.

7. Flexibility and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

8. Valid UK driver’s license.
