Substance Misuse Doctor

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Misuse Doctor to provide comprehensive medical services to patients struggling with substance abuse disorders in our Lancashire location. The successful candidate will earn £80 per hour, offering expert clinical guidance and care, with an emphatic and considerate approach to ensure the patient’s recovery journey is successful.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing high-quality medical care and support to patients dealing with substance misuse.

2. Assisting in developing individualised treatment plans following patient assessments.

3. Conducting regular reviews of these treatment plans and assessing patient progress.

4. Prescribing medication to assist in the treatment of substance misuse disorders, following current medical protocols and regulations.

5. Providing harm-reduction advice and promoting healthier lifestyle choices.

6. Delivering training and support to other team members to enhance service provision.

7. Liaising with other healthcare professionals, social services, and relevant agencies to coordinate patient care.

8. Participating in continual professional development activities to ensure best-practice is followed.

Requirements:

1. Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) is essential.

2. Previous experience working within the field of substance misuse.

3. Narrative understanding of the issues surrounding substance misuse and the recovery process.

4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exercise discretion.

6. Deep understanding of detoxification processes and harm-reduction methods.

7. Strong knowledge of the UK health and social care system.

8. Flexibility to work in different locations within Lancashire when required.
