Substance Misuse Doctor

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Substance Misuse Doctor to join our dedicated team in Brighton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional medical guidance, treatment, and support for patients suffering from substance misuse issues, and working towards their recovery and reintegration into society.

Responsibilities:

1. Assessing, diagnosing, and managing treatment plans for patients battling substance misuse.

2. Delivering detoxification and stabilisation services.

3. Ensuring all clinical practices adhere to the relevant legal and ethical guidelines.

4. Creating and managing individual care plans, with consideration of physical and mental health issues.

5. Being available for emergencies and crisis intervention tactics.

6. Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, counsellors, and social workers.

7. Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and updates.

8. Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.

9. Providing medicinal and psychological support to patients and their families.

10. Keeping up to date with developments in the field of substance misuse and implementing this knowledge into your practice.

Requirements:

1. A valid GMC registration.

2. A proven track record in the field of Substance Misuse or Mental Health.

3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work under pressure and manage crises effectively.

5. A compassionate and empathetic approach towards patients.

6. An understanding and commitment to working with patients from diverse backgrounds.

7. The ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

8. Excellent records management.

9. A commitment to continuous professional development.

10. A flexible approach with a willingness to undertake some out of hours work as and when necessary.
