Substance Misuse Nurse

Seven Criminal Justice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse who is keen on making a significant difference in the lives of individuals battling substance misuse disorders. Based in Crawley, UK, this is a chance to join a team of professionals committed to helping individuals on their road to recovery, providing an essential service to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessing and documenting patients’ substance misuse conditions and behaviours.

2. Developing, implementing, and reviewing individual care plans tailored to the patients’ needs.

3. Collaborating with psychiatrists, doctors, and therapists to coordinate care and provide comprehensive treatments.

4. Offering advice, counselling and information about substance misuse to patients and their families.

5. Administering medication to patients to help manage withdrawal symptoms and complications.

6. Providing resources to patients and their families for aftercare, self-help strategies, and recovery support.

7. Educating patients and families about the dangers and effects of substance misuse, as well as prevention strategies.

8. Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

1. Registered Nurse certification valid in the UK.

2. Significant experience working in substance misuse or a related field.

3. Knowledge of the most up-to-date practices in treating and managing substance misuse conditions.

4. Proficiency in empathetic, person-centred care.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Flexibility with working hours and the capability of handling emergency situations.

7. Well-organized and detail-oriented.
