Substance Misuse Nurse

Seven Criminal Justice have a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our healthcare team in Merthyr Tydfil, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialised nursing care and treatment for patients struggling with different kinds of substance misuse.

Responsibilities:

1. Delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to patients with substance misuse disorders.

2. Providing comprehensive assessments and implementing substance misuse treatment plans that respond to individual patient needs.

3. Working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive coordinated and integrated care.

4. Supporting service users to achieve realistic and achievable goals related to their recovery.

5. Administering medications as per prescriptions and monitoring responses to treatment.

6. Offering harm minimization advice and health promotion support.

7. Participating in regular supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings.

8. Complying with all legal and professional responsibilities associated with the administration of controlled drugs.

Qualifications And Experience:

1. Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

2. Experience in substance misuse, mental health, or similar healthcare setting.

3. Knowledge of the issues affecting service users with a history of substance misuse.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a diverse team.

6. Ability to maintain accurate records, respect confidentiality and a commitment to professional development.

7. Flexibility to work across operational hours.
