Substance Misuse Nurse

Seven Criminal Justice are currently looking for a committed, compassionate and understanding Substance Misuse Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Reading, UK. The successful candidate will have an integral part within the multi-disciplinary team, working closely with patients suffering from substance misuse to assist them on their journey to recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver an effective and competent level of nursing care to patients and support them in managing withdrawal symptoms.

2. Develop personalized treatment plans to assist patients with substance misuse disorders.

3. Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the patient’s physical and psychological health.

4. Facilitate health education groups and provide counselling services.

5. Liaise with external stakeholders including community recovery teams and social services.

6. Maintain accurate patient records and provide ongoing assessment of the patients’ response to treatment.

7. Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

Ideal Candidate:

1. Must be a Registered Nurse in the UK with a valid NMC pin.

2. Substantial experience in Substance Misuse Nursing will be highly regarded.

3. Demonstrated ability for supportive, empathetic and non-judgmental communication.

4. Proficient in risk assessments and developing care plans.

5. Developed understanding and knowledge of confidentiality and data protection.

6. Possess resilience, tenacity, and a taste for challenges.
