Substance Misuse Nurse Band 6

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Substance Misuse Nurse Band 6 to join our dynamic team in Maidstone, Kent. This position emphasizes providing high-quality care to patients struggling with substance misuse, striving to improve their life quality by implementing comprehensive treatment plans and promoting recovery.

Responsibilities:

1. Providing a comprehensive substance misuse service to users, focusing on harm reduction.

2. Developing person-centred care plans to support service users’ needs, working closely with other healthcare professionals as necessary.

3. Delivering therapeutic interventions and health promotion activities.

4. Monitoring service users’ health and wellbeing, making appropriate referrals when necessary.

5. Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings.

6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

7. Complying with all local and national policies regarding substance misuse, safeguarding and infection control.

Qualifications:

1. Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.

2. Experience in substance misuse, mental health, or related field is necessary.

3. Experience in Methadone dispensing is desirable.

4. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.

5. Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.

6. Confidence to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

7. Commitment to continuing professional development.

8. Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
