Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice seek a dedicated Substance Misuse Worker, invested in making a significant positive impact in the lives of people struggling with substance abuse. This role requires someone passionate about creating an environment conducive to dignity, respect, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

– Providing a spectrum of support services to adults struggling with substance abuse.

– Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine the needs of service users.

– Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized recovery plans.

– Extending support to service users for various therapies and group work.

– Liaising with healthcare professionals, social services, and local authorities to coordinate care.

– Offering harm reduction advice and health education related to substance misuse.

– Ensuring all documentation, reports, and case notes are timely and accurate.

– Complying with confidentiality codes and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Person Specification:

– Prior experience in substance misuse recovery settings preferred.

– Should possess a NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care.

– Exceptional listening and communication skills.

– Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

– Proficient in understanding policy, procedure, and best practice within the substance misuse sector.

– Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in digital systems and MS Office.

– Compassionate and committed to helping those affected by substance misuse issues.

– Must be reliable, empathetic, patient and maintain professional boundaries.
