Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Worker to join our team in Peterborough. In this role, you will be responsible for helping individuals struggling with substance misuse by providing counseling, implementing treatment plans, supporting recovery, and promoting healthy lifestyle changes.

Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate the needs of the individuals and devise customised treatment plans that cater to their specific requirements.

2. Facilitate group counseling sessions and carry out one-to-one consultations.

3. Provide emotional support and guidance to those undergoing treatment.

4. Develop and oversee recovery plans, constantly monitoring progress and making adjustments where necessary.

5. Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams including healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to ensure optimal care.

6. Help individuals build skills and improve their quality of life.

7. Promote understanding and awareness of substance misuse within the community.

8. Maintain up-to-date records and formulate reports on clients’ status and progress.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, or a related discipline.

2. Experience in substance misuse or addiction therapy roles is preferred.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients.

4. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and principles.

5. A solid understanding of substance misuse issues and treatment modalities.

6. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

7. All candidates must have a full clean UK driving license.
