Substance Misuse Worker

Seven Criminal Justice are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Misuse Worker for a reputable healthcare organization in Chichester. Your primary role will involve offering support, counselling, and treatment to individuals struggling with substance misuse issues.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive initial assessments of clients to determine the level and type of care needed.

2. Develop and implement tailored treatment plans focused on recovery.

3. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on substance misuse.

4. Craft and maintain accurate and timely client records, progress notes, treatment plans and discharge plans.

5. Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, social workers, and treatment teams to optimise patient care.

6. Provide advice and guidance to families and friends of individuals dealing with substance misuse.

7. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to ensure up-to-date knowledge and best practice within the field of substance misuse.

Job Requirements:

1. Relevant degree or equivalent in social work, psychology, counselling or another health-related field.

2. Experience working in a similar role dealing with substance misuse or addiction.

3. Registered with an appropriate professional body.

4. Strong empathetic skills, excellent at listening and problem-solving abilities.

5. Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.

6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

7. Sound understanding of substance misuse issues and treatment methods.

8. Valid driving licence to travel to meetings and visit clients across Chichester.
