Assessor in Carpentry and Joinery

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Assessor in Carpentry and Joinery to work in Ipswich. This position is initially for a period of 2-3 months and is paying from £20.00 – £27.00 per hour (PAYE and Umbrella payment options are available).

The role:

      Recruit, induct, train, assess, guide and support learners on apprenticeships and employer engagement programmes;

Advise and support employers and learners in the selection of relevant and appropriate components and levels of apprenticeship standards;

Guide, support and assess students to deliver the required evidence and provide feedback on progress at both college and their place of work;

Maintain accurate and detailed records of the progress of apprentices on the e-system;

Liaise with internal quality assurers/assessors and other professionals;

Attend meetings to discuss assessment processes and achievements;

Market and promote the College and apprenticeships

Key Responsibilities:

      To undertake college and work-based assessment of students to an appropriate standard.

To participate in and contribute to delivering team development and planning activities.

To recruit students and employers to meet targets.

To ensure that initial advice and guidance is robust and accurate for students and employers and to ensure students receive appropriate initial assessment and induction.

To track, monitor and review student progress and achievement against Individual Learning Plans and to implement SMART target setting as part of this process.

To support students to develop skills and gain achievement in English and maths in line with the apprenticeship standards, planned outcomes and personal development.

To carry out Health and Safety pre-vetting and monitoring of employers, including Risk Assessment and Accident Investigation and Reporting.

To attend internal and external events which promote apprenticeships, including evening and weekends, as and when required.

To ensure that apprenticeship documentation, both electronically and paper based, meets audit requirements.

To maintain strong timely success and overall success outcomes for all students in line with agreed targets.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (QCF)/Assessor Award (or equivalent) or a commitment to achieving within a specified timeframe.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and 2 x references.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 35 hours p/w.
