Elective Home Education Advisor

Seven Resourcing are looking for an interim Elective Home Education Adviser to work in Hackney. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying from £260.00 – £340.00 per day (paid to you via an umbrella company). The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

The post holder will be responsible for conducting educational assessments in respect of children who are known by Hackney Education to be educated at home. 

The post holder will be expected to assess the suitability of any education in place and ensure it is suitable to a child’s age, ability, aptitude and any SEND needs.

The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the organisation, reviewing reports, case notes and wider information to make informed decisions.

Key to the role will be building strong relationships with families and the wider EHE community. Providing an expert point of reference to share advice and guidance with home educating families and wider professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The post holder will conduct suitability assessments to ensure those educated at home receive an efficient, full-time education, suitable to a child’s age, ability, aptitude and any SEND needs. 
  • The post-holder will be responsible for establishing good working relationships that promote the development of an effective curriculum within the home.
  • To lead on any specialist assessment and to model teaching strategies to parents/carers and setting – suitable to the child’s age, ability, aptitude and any SEND needs.
  • To maintain contact with home educated families (at least annually) so that Hackney Education may reasonably inform itself of the current suitability of the education provided.
  • Ensure all communication with parents and other agencies is timely and responsive to concerns and expressed needs.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.

Experience: 1+ year of experience working within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. QTS gained from an ITT programme. Current DBS and 5 years references. 

Hours: 36 hours p/w.
