English & Maths Tutor

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Maths and English Tutor to work in Sheffield. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £24.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

Teach/train in Lifelong Learning and Skills Service training centres and community settings. To plan, monitor and evaluate teaching in line with national and service quality requirements. To contribute to curriculum development, leadership and quality improvement across the service.

Key Responsibilities:

      To teach or facilitate courses and programmes to awarding body, funding body and contractual requirements which may include accredited and non- accredited provision and which take place in a variety of centre and community based settings.

To support learners, in their learning including undertaking initial, formative and summative assessment, developing personalised materials or strategies where appropriate and advising on progression into other forms of learning and training.

To undertake and lead curriculum development, including the preparation of learning materials and the design and development of monitoring and assessment tools.

To liaise with other agencies supporting learning provision in relation to the recruitment and referral of learners and where appropriate, assist directly in the recruitment and enrolment of learners.

To contribute to the administration of learning programmes including fee collection and the completion and return of course data.

To support quality monitoring and improvement through participating in observation of teaching and learning, the analysis of performance data, service wide self-assessment and inspection.

To undertake leadership of a course or curriculum/subject area, including offering curriculum support, guidance and where appropriate, training to other staff

To participate in and where appropriate lead Staff Development opportunities to increase good practice and meet the quality requirements of the service, funding agencies and awarding bodies.

To participate in the city council’s performance management and appraisal systems, including the appraisal of others.

To offer peer/mentoring support to associate tutors and line-manage associate tutors as appropriate

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified and experienced tutor in the Lifelong Learning and Skills Sector with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 35 hours p/w.
