Head of School Place Planning, Admissions, Major Projects & Transport

Seven Resourcing is working with Bexley Council to recruit a Head of School Place Planning, Admissions, Major Projects & Transport for their Education services.

Although this is a temporary role to begin with this role has the onlook to move to permanency if all goes well, which shows they are looking for someone long term!

Job Purpose:

To work collaboratively with colleagues within the Council, partner agencies and other organisations to ensure the delivery of excellent integrated services to residents, adopting a One Council approach at all times.

To lead and manage a specified area of the Council to deliver a comprehensive, high quality, cost effective and timely service.

To support and direct the delivery of a broad range of services to meet the needs of residents.

To model the Council’s values and standards in carrying out this job.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To be responsible for the development and implementation of work plans for the service in accordance with the Council’s priorities and objectives.

To ensure that services are delivered that are customer focused, efficient and represent excellent value for money.

To seek continuous improvement and innovation in services so as to better meet the needs of residents within the resources available.

To ensure the effective management of allocated budgets and other resources and that plans for expenditure reductions are delivered.

To work collaboratively with colleagues within the Council, partner agencies and other organisations to ensure the delivery of excellent integrated services to residents.

Applicant Requirements:

– Qualifications: University Degree at grade 2:2 or above.

– Experience: Liaison with Head Teachers and other professionals and also internally within the Senior Management Team across Children’s Services and the wider Council.

Responsibility for SEN transport which is all about fulfilling our obligations to provide transport that meets statutory requirements.

An adept communicator with the likelihood of needing to respond to complex challenging situations with parents/carers who may be dissatisfied with services.

They will also have a high level of Member engagement.

Strong understanding of financials, procurement and experience in staff management.

– Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. QTS gained from an ITT programme.

– Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

– Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
