Home to School Travel Officer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Home to School Travel Officer to work in Slough. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £14.96 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:

To provide a practical or advisory service to supervise the delivery of an effective cross functional business delivery service. Provides an accessible, flexible, efficient, and courteous service to internal and external customers in line with agreed standards and performance measures.

Requires the application of business practices, plus some theoretical knowledge gained from relevant experience and formal training. Will be expert administrators, authoritative on procedures of some complexity and variety with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of particular areas.

Able to work within clear guidelines to support the day to day running of the service, providing an accessible, flexible, efficient and courteous support service to staff and customers. The role will require flexibility and the ability to move between and across additional specialisms.

The role will require regular planning and co-ordination of activities in a well-structured environment. Able to manage own time effectively and identify priorities for self and others where there is supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

      Contribute to the daily running of a business delivery function to support the effective delivery of the services to the council.

Supervise and develop others within assigned function/service areas including managing performance, appraisals, discipline and grievance, absence management.

Supervise, or carry out services and provide information in accordance with organisational procedures and guidelines, ensuring clarity of performance indicators and that business targets are met.

Organise, develop and motivate employees including recruitment and selection, induction of new staff, or sharing own areas of expertise and knowledge within the team.

Work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to achieve objectives and deliver high performance outcomes.

Provide advice and guidance to internal and external customers / members of the public on processes and enquiries. Relationship Management & Networking

Build effective relationships with colleagues and customers internally and externally to provide high levels of customer services and gather ideas and good practice examples that can be built upon for the service.

Able to respond to allocated work independently and refer more complex problems to a more senior manager. Financial & Resource Management

Ensure compliance with the Council’s financial and management control policies and criteria.

Handle and process computerised data and information with care, accuracy, confidentiality and security to ensure accurate and reliable information relevant to the service area. Planning & Organising

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ level 2 or 3 working with children and young people (desirable, not essential).
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
