Seven Education is looking for an Student Engagement Advisor in Kingston at South Thames Colleges Group

The role:

As a pivotal part of the frontline team, you will motivate and inspire students to take advantage of the Support Service offer and actively engage them in pastoral support and enrichment opportunities, working with students to shape and develop provision. You will work in close liaison with students, staff and external organisations to safeguard students and support them in achieving their full potential by offering holistic support including enrichment tailored to their needs. The post-holder will be required to work across the following specialisms – Pastoral, Safeguarding, Financial Support and Enrichment, with a specific focus on Pastoral Support for 1 available Pastoral Support positions and 1 Enrichment position.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate, current and responsive advice, guidance & support to students in the Student Support Centre, signposting and referring as appropriate.

Provide information and guidance on the College Bursary funds and support students in completing these forms and providing required evidence.

Initially assess financial support applications eligibility for funding in accordance with College funding criteria and make financial awards to individual students in accordance with policy.

Be a Safeguarding Officer for the College, triage, assess risk and take appropriate timely action, consulting with the designated safeguarding lead where necessary to safeguard students in line with policy and procedure .

Provide enrichment activities/events in the common room areas, engaging with students to ensure that their leisure time is spent constructively and helping them to maintain appropriate standards of behaviour.
