Lead Accountant

Seven Education is looking for an Lead Accountant in Walsall

The role:

The working pattern for the successful candidate for the Lead Accountant role is 3 days a week.

The role would require the successful candidate to work remotely with the occasional requirement to work onsite within the borough of Walsall.

Rate of pay is £25.18 – £28.06 per hour.

Lead Accountant duties include but are not exclusive to :

To be responsible for delivering a first class, value for money financial service that meets the legal, financial and Council aims and objectives to meet our customer requirements in accordance with Finance and Contract Procedure Rules.

Service improvement, change management and process developments are implemented, provide lead support to the Council’s Transformation programme.

To deputise, in the absence of or in place of, the Finance Manager/Head of Finance or other managers where necessary

To provide high quality financial information to senior management up to and including Executive Directors to allow decision-making.

To present financial information to a range of audiences, including contentious information to Scrutiny panels and other public meetings.

To support the Education Finance function at the Council.

Experience required:

Member of CIMA or CCAB body with post qualification experience and undertaking active CPD but also consider qualified by experience.

Experience of finance business partnering

Experience of providing accountancy services within a large organisation / authority.

Experience of working with a variety of different stakeholders (preferably in a political environment)

Experience of supporting the Education Finance function within a local authority or large organisation.
