Level 2 Lecturer

Seven Resourcing is working with Coventry City Council to recruit a level 2 lecturer.

Job Purpose:

Applicants will also have a strong understanding of how to develop English programmes that attract learners from diverse backgrounds and will have experience of embedding employability and life skills in Adult Education programmes to raise aspirations and make a difference to people’s lives.

Duties:

The successful candidate will deliver accredited courses, lead a team of Level 1 English lecturers and support staff, and efficiently support English programme in one or several venues. They will work with the existing Level 2 lecturers and partner organisations, to ensure the ongoing, high quality of the English programme citywide.

They will need to have current knowledge of the English curriculum and qualifications for post-16 learners, including English GCSE, demonstrate flexibility within the working environment and be able to respond quickly to the demands of the programme and the Service.

Applicants must have recent, relevant team management experience within an Adult Education Community Learning setting. They should also be able to demonstrate how they have made a significant contribution to the planning, development and management of English programmes, ensuring quality improvement in all provision.

 

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: They will hold Level 5 subject specification qualification in English/Literacy or equivalent. In addition, you will have a teaching qualification at level 4 or equivalent and Level 2 in Maths.
  • Experience:

    Applicants will also have a strong understanding of how to develop English programmes that attract learners from diverse backgrounds and will have experience of embedding employability and life skills in Adult Education programmes to raise aspirations and make a difference to people’s lives.

    They will also have experience of managing, motivating and inspiring staff, including organising staff development, induction and performance management with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a range of audiences, including social media.

  • Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
