Post 16 Progression Adviser

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Post 16 Progression Adviser to work in Islington. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £21.33 (PAYE) or £27.93 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5:30pm. 

The role:

Deliver wraparound support to improve education, employment and training (EET) outcomes for young people of secondary school age up to the age of 18 (or 25 with LD/SEN) who are NEET or in vulnerable groups, including those who are attending Alternative Provision, New River College, and those who are, or have been subject to a youth offending order.

Ensure that young people receive high quality, impartial information, advice and guidance, and develop appropriate pathways and plans to access EET. 

Ensure that young people’s progression in learning is recorded appropriately on all relevant systems efficiently in order to contribute to achieving the council’s targets and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within an appropriate safeguarding framework, and take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • Meet agreed targets to support the progression and retention in EET of young people on your allocated caseload.
  • Deliver individual interventions and targeted follow up to support young people’s progression in EET, in the context of the role of the local authority and the requirement to meet agreed targets relating to EET outcomes.
  • Undertake effective assessment with young people to agree individual goals and action plans, in order to support access to EET. Use guidance and brokerage skills to meet the agreed priorities, and review and celebrate progress towards these as appropriate.
  • Track young people allocated to your caseload effectively. Monitor the caseload regularly to ensure that destination information is up to date and that the service remains in contact with young people as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key organisations supporting the education, training and employment of young people post 16 including colleges, employers, work based learning providers and the voluntary, community and faith sector.
  •  Build and maintain relationships with specialist agencies, including Targeted and Specialist Services and the voluntary sector, working with young people with particular vulnerabilities on your caseload and ensure that information and data is shared and work allocated efficiently. Attend partnership meetings with specialist agencies as required.

Qualifications:

      N/A. 

Experience: 1+ year of experience within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS and 2 x references. 

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
