SEND Resolutions Officer – Leeds City Council

Seven Education is looking for SEND Resolutions Officer in Leeds

Job purpose & context :

The SEND Resolutions Officer would be an experienced SEND Casework Officer expected to respond to Stage 1 and 2 complaints, Ombudsman investigations and other complex queries, as well as supporting our legal teams in responding to Judicial Review pre-action protocols. The role may involve some level of frontline communication with families as part of their investigations but will not be responsible for ongoing casework.

Accountabilities:

Deal with complaints and legal challenges, including from Press.

Advise and assist parents regarding the complaints process, specifically within appropriate educational provision and placement and cases where pupils have been referred under the Health-Education Notification process.

Provide general advice to parents and schools on Children’s Services policies and statutory guidance on exclusions, admissions, and attendance issues.

Ensure the voice of the child is heard and actioned

Provide written case statements for Local Government Ombudsman when required

Provide case statements for the Statutory Assessment and Provision Lead on request.

• Flexible and adaptable to change to assist other services as required c ommensurate to grade
