Senior Teaching Assistant – Sheffield City Council

Seven Education is looking for an Senior Teaching Assistant in Sheffield.

The role:

The Vision Support Service, require a teaching assistant with secondary/SEN experience. A level 3 TA would be desirable but a level 2 TA is essential. The post is on a temporary basis until 27/5/22 and will be for 21 hrs per week over 3 days which will be negotiable. Good IT skills preferable. Our Service is based in the Integrated Resource at Tapton School, Darwin Lane, Sheffield 10. Start time 8.30 am, finish time 4.00 pm. Please note that you would not be required to work during the Easter holiday period 4/4/22 up to and incoluding 18/4/22.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work under the guidance of specialist teaching staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement work & care programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/ preparation of resources. Staff may also supervise whole groups occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers.

General Duties

  • To undertake all duties and responsibilities in line with current Council Policies and Procedures, including those relating to health and safety; equalities, diversity and inclusion; safeguarding procedures; financial instructions; procurement and commissioning.

    To undertake any other duties in agreement with the post holder and manager. Significant changes that may affect the role and responsibilities of the post or the job description would be managed through an agreed process in consultation with the Trade Unions.
