Skills for Life Tutor – Maths Specialist

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Skills for Life Tutor/Maths Specialist to work in Tower Hamlets. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying £30.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company). The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

This role provides high quality teaching and learning in the Post 16 Sector for Tower Hamlets Council. The postholder will assist the Skills for Life Manager and Assistant Programme Managers with Maths curriculum development for the

Idea Store Learning programmes of adult, family and young people’s learning.

The postholder will contribute to the promotion and development of a culture of lifelong learning in Tower Hamlets and promote continuous quality improvement and good practice in teaching and learning, including the development of high standard teaching and learning materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for high quality teaching and learning as part of the Idea Store Learning service.
  • Tutor groups of learners, including preparing them for accreditation where required.
  • Support the creative and successful promotion of the Idea Store Learning service through a range of publicity and marketing activities.
  • Complete all required learner journey activities including initial and diagnostic assessment, individual learning plans, schemes of work, lesson plans, learner reviews, learning materials and premises and all other quality improvement documentation relating to the delivery of teaching and learning.
  • Effectively implement course delivery and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Effectively use standardised course delivery documentation for planning, recording and assessing learning outcomes.
  • Effectively administer policies and procedures in relation to the learner journey. Effectively use awarding body guidance, systems and procedures for the delivery, moderation and verification of accredited courses.
  • Keep up to date with national and local developments in the Post 16 sector.

Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:

      A nationally recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS, DET or equivalent). 

Experience: 1+ year of post-graduate experience within a similar role. 

Compliance: Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 35 hours p/w.
