Healthcare Assistant

Seven Healthcare are seeking for a dedicated, empathetic and skilled Healthcare Assistant to join our healthcare team in Dorchester, UK. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing the utmost quality care for clients in a professional manner.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide physical care to patients, such as bathing, feeding, dressing, toileting, moving and transporting patients.

2. Perform minor medical procedures including but not limited to changing dressings, catheters, and other minor medical procedures.

3. Monitor patients’ vital signs such as temperature, pulse, breathing rate, blood pressure, glucose level and report any abnormal changes to the healthcare professional in charge.

4. Assist nursing staff in delivering healthcare plans and providing appropriate patient education.

5. Maintain patient’s dignity, privacy and comfort at all times and respond to their care needs promptly.

6. Manually keep records of patient’s health condition and care, ensuring all reports are accurate and updated.

7. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

1. Experience in a similar role in the healthcare sector is essential; training towards NVQ Level 2/3 in Health Social Care is desirable.

2. Excellent communication, interpersonal and observational skills.

3. Demonstrable understanding of the physical and emotional needs of patients and the ability to deliver quality care at all times.

4. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

5. The ability to work cooperatively within a team and also work on own initiative.

6. A current DBS check or willing to undergo a DBS check.

7. The right to work in the UK.
