Seven Health & Social Care are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children In Care Social Worker to join our supportive team in Lincoln. As a vital member of our team, your focus will be safeguarding children and promoting their welfare, ensuring they can thrive in the most suitable environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Managing a complex caseload of children, conducting comprehensive assessments that consider the holistic needs of each child.

2. Formulating and implementing effective care plans that focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

3. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including education, health and other relevant services, to plan and coordinate interventions effectively.

4. Preparing high quality written reports for child protection conferences, child care reviews, and legal proceedings.

5. Mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced team members and contributing to their professional development.

6. Complying with policy, procedures and legislative requirements, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.

7. Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous records of all activity undertaken with the children and their families.

8. Providing support, advice and guidance to children in care, promoting their participation in decision-making processes.

Requirements:

1. An undergraduate degree or equivalent in Social Work, and registration with Social Work England.

2. Significant experience of working within Children’s Services, particularly in safeguarding and child protection.

3. Excellent understanding of the Children Act, other relevant legislation, and experience in applying it to practice.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

5. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with children, families, and multi-agency partners.

6. Optimistic, empathic and resilient – you must possess the capacity to work in challenging situations.

7. Valid UK driver’s license.
