Administrator – Customer Service

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Customer Service Administrator to work in South Shields. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £11.70 per hour. The role is full-time (Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm).

The role:

To work as part of the Customer Service Team on a wide range of skill sets and, on occasion, to work at any of the Customer Service Centres. Responsible for dealing with telephone calls and other communications made to the Council or to deal with enquiries from members of the public who visit the Service Centres. To provide an efficient and effective contact service for the public of South Tyneside and to relay the information received to the correct section by the most appropriate means.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with telephone calls across a wide range of service areas from internal and external clients for service requests and customer feedback.
  • Deal with email and SMS communications delivered to the Customer Service Team.
  • Undertake the role as a “subject expert” for a specific service area or contact centre function.
  • Assist the contact centre supervisors with various duties and on occasion cover their tasks.
  • Input all requests and complaints received to the relevant systems for action and recording purposes.
  • Communicate with other members of the Council via telephone and e-mail.
  • Undertake the general clerical tasks of the Customer Service Team.
  • Deal with members of the public who visit any of the Customer Service Centres. Work additional hours as required by the contingencies of the service.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: At least 4 GCSE’s (Grade C or above) including English Language or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role.
  • Compliance: 2 x references and proof of right to work in the UK.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
