Advanced Democratic Service Scrutiny Officer

Seven Resourcing is working with Nottinghamshire Council to recruit an Advanced Democratic Service Scrutiny Officer for their admin and clerical services.

£35 per hour umbrella.

Initial 9 month contract until at least June 2024.

Advanced Democratic Services Officer required for up to 12 months. We are looking for an experienced Democratic Services Officer with line management experience. Due to our recent change back to executive arrangements, direct experience of supporting Executive Arrangements and scrutiny functions is a distinct advantage. Line Management experience is also required. 

To manage the provision and development of democratic services in relation to the governance of the Council and a broad range of member support functions to enable elected members to perform their roles effectively.

1. To manage the provision and delivery of high quality governance and member support services to elected Members, ensuring adherence to constitutional and statutory requirements.

2. To promote good governance practices amongst departmental officers to comply with statutory guidance.

3. To undertake the proper officer role in relation to advice and attendance at Committees and other meetings as and when required.

4. To respond to requests for information and advice/interpretation on matters relating to the constitution and to the business of committees and to be responsible for ensuring good quality information and advice is provided by all team members.
