Anti-Social Behaviour Officer

Seven Social Care is looking for a Anti-Social Behaviour Officer at Cambridge City Council

The role:

To promote and progress the Council’s response to dealing with Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) in the City.

In accordance with the Council’s policy and procedures, to be the lead officer in resolving individual cases of ASB

To respond to enquiries and reported complaints of ASB and serious neighbour nuisance and co-ordinate any investigations of the same.

To action agreed solutions working in partnership with key agencies, including progressing and taking appropriate enforcement action against perpetrators where appropriate.

To advise customers on the Council’s policies and procedures in relation to ASB.

Key Responsibilities:

 

To ensure that the Senior Community Safety Officer is kept regularly appraised of all the ASB cases allocated to you as lead officer.

To ensure that reported cases of ASB are followed up in consultation with key agencies and that progress is reported to the Streetlife Working Group and/or PSG.

To conduct interviews with members of the public in their homes or in other locations. These will be done in liaison with the Police, City Homes and City RSLs and/or other key agencies as part of the evidence gathering process.

To prepare and maintain detailed records and case files for use in legal proceedings or other action.

To liaise with the Council’s lawyers on cases and agree and expedite any actions.

To ensure that the terms of the ASB County Protocol and Information Sharing Protocol are met.

To make requests to agencies over the disclosure of information in preparation for legal proceedings, such disclosures to be made in accordance with the County Information Sharing Protocol.

To prepare witness statements for use in legal proceedings.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: N/A. 
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 
  • Compliance: Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years. 
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37 hours p/w.
