Appointee and Deputyship Team Case Worker – Client Affairs East Sussex County Council

Seven Resourcing are looking for an Appointee and Deputyship Team Case Worker – Client Affairs  East Sussex County Council

37 Hours Per Week

£13.76 Per Hour (PAYE) or £18.75 Per Hour (Umbrella)

Hybrid working – One to Two days in office, three to four days from home.

The Job –  

Supporting those adults who receive care and support through East Sussex County Council (ESCC), Adult Social Care and may lack mental capacity to manage their finances and property.  If they do not have any close family or friends willing or able to support them, ESCC’s Appointee & Deputyship Team may take on the responsibility by way of Department for Work and Pensions Appointeeship or Court of Protection Deputyship.

ADT are responsible for managing and protecting the income and assets of vulnerable adults. 

The responsibility of the Case Worker is to manage the day-to-day financial affairs of those vulnerable adults in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (Mental Capacity Act 2005 (legislation.gov.uk) and our responsibilities as set out in the Office of the Public Guardian Standards (Deputy standards: professional deputies (publishing.service.gov.uk)

Applicant Requirements-

      QCF level 2 in Maths and English or able to pass competency assessment as part of the selection process.

Knowledge of The role of the Court of Protection (COP) and Office for the Public Guardian in relation to people who lack mental capacity and whose finances are managed by Local Authorities

Experience Working with a range of people with different needs and abilities. 

Experience Working in a role where accurate figure work is required, including reconciling financial data and financial planning.

Experience Working in partnership with other agencies, i.e. Citizen’s Advice, community and voluntary organisations, Department for Work and Pensions Database packages.
