Approved Mental Health Practitioner – AMHP

Seven Social Care are currently recruiting for an AMHP to start a new role in Denbighshire on the Adult Mental Health Team.

Hours: 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday

Pay: £41.28 an hour (Umbrella) Pay rate is negotiable dependent on experience!

Contract: 3 – 6 months initially

You must be to provide recent examples and references of Mental Health Act assessments, within the last five years to be considered for this post.

This post is based in the Adult Mental Health Team in Russell House, Rhyl but the post will cover all of Denbighshire. 

Responsibilities:

To undertake a statutory responsibility to consider all requests for a Mental Health Act

(MHA) assessments and for co-ordinating the MHA assessment process; considering the

need for admission and pursuing alternatives to the use of compulsion (i.e. least restrictive

option) wherever possible.

 

To bring a social perspective to the Mental Health Act Assessment process, utilising high

level of professional skills and knowledge to navigate contentious issues and including

challenging Senior Health professionals and those who may be experts in their own field.

 

To work in partnership with a range of other professionals at senior and specialist levels, but

reach an independent autonomous judgement as to whether the use of formal admission

to hospital is necessary and appropriate.

 

Applicant Requirements:

Experience:  Able to demonstrate working to national occupational standard for Social Work and the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice for Social Care Workers.

Qualifications:  Qualification in Social Work i.e. Degree or Social Work predecessor e.g. DipSW, AMHP Qualification

Compliance:  Enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK, Registered with Social Care Wales

Hours:  37 hours a week

Travel:  Full UK driving license and access to your own car
