Assistant Environmental Protection Officer – Sheffield City Council

Seven Social Care is looking for a locum Assistant Environmental Protection Officer to work with Sheffield City Council.

Pay rate – £14 per hour

The role:

Currently I am in the market for 1 Officer to work on the NTET Service on a rota’d basis, Wed Thurs Fri Sat and Sunday the hours would be as below for a period of 6months however this may be extended to support service delivery:-

Wednesday 19:30 – 02:00

Thursday 19:30 – 02:00

Friday 19:30 – 03:00

Saturday 19:30 – 03:00

Sunday 19:30 – 02:00

I envisage that the rota will be :-

Officer 1 Wednesday Thursday Friday

The role of the Officers will be to support the NTET Officer/s in their duties to investigate and evidence on a night breaches of a statutory nuisances for example from a domestic or commercial premises noise nuisance, bonfires, artificial light spillage, smoke from wood or multifuel stoves, including working alongside other departments with in the Council to assist with gathering further evidence to enable action to be taken in respect of serving legal notices.

The candidates must have some experience however training will be given in the serving of legal enforcement notices, taking and preparing statements for cases to be progressed through the legal system and a understanding of working with legislation designed to act against environmental protection issues as mentioned above. Working in a small team it is essential that the candidates have the ability to communicate well amongst each other but also to be a team player who can create and forge links with SCC services and external partners.

It would be an advantage if a BTEC or HNC/HND in Environmental Health was held but candidates with experience in this field of work without the formal qualification will also be considered.

I appreciate that the hours of employment may be difficult to fill therefore the above would be my first choice , that said if you only have 1 candidate who would be prepared to work the entire shift pattern week in week out I would be grateful if you could let me know.

Applicant Requirements:

 

  • Qualifications: Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology
  • Experience: 2+ years working within a same or similar role.
  • Compliance: Proof of right to work and DBS dated within the last 12 months (or registered on the online update service.)
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
