Best Interest Assessor

Seven Social Care are looking for 1 Best Interest Assessor to work for Swindon Borough Council.This position is full time (37 hours per week) and is paying £40 per hour. 

You will be primarily home based, however will be required to travel to complete assessments in Swindon or the surrounding geographical area, attend a weekly team meeting via MS Teams and a monthly face to face team meeting at the Civic campus in Swindon. All necessary IT and communication equipment will be provided.

The Role:

To complete Best Interests Assessments under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards legal framework.

Key Responsibilities:

• Examining copies of relevant assessments or care plans drawn up by the Local Authority; and Examining copies of any relevant assessment or care plans drawn up by the managing authority; and Consulting with the managing authority to understand how any care plans are being implemented.
• The Best Interest Assessor must then consider whether the care plan, and how it is being implemented constitutes a detention, and therefore a deprivation of liberty.

Applicant Requirements:

• Experience: 2+ years working in a similar role.
• Compliance: Up to date DBS.
• Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
• Hours: 37 hours p/w.
