Broadcast Support Specialist

Seven Resourcing are currently seeking a Broadcast Support Specialist to work within Nottinghamshire County Council. This is a full time role, paying £14-£17 p/h.  

Any previous experience qualifications that are necessary: Ideally degree level or professional qualification as Broadcast engineer (Audio and Music Technology or similar is good too). Experience in producing video and/or music content, live events etc. is a benefit.

Job Purpose:

-To develop and maintain the key technical products used in the delivery of Hybrid Council Meetings and the production and broadcasting of requested content into publicly visible channels e.g., YouTube.

– Troubleshooting technical issues and diagnosing and repairing faults with AV hardware inc screens, cameras and microphones, Preproduction editing equipment, and transmission links used in the Council chamber, in outside broadcasts and across the wider NCC estate.

– To ensure the reliability of the public facing media stream and to protect against reputational damage, interacting with Democratic Services and ICT Support Teams to ensure legal obligations are met to a suitable quality and standard.

– The setting up and monitoring of Audio-visual links between multiple locations as required.

– To assist with identifying areas of concern and options for improvement, keeping up to date with best practice, industry standards and innovations. – Testing, evaluating and supporting the roll out of new functionality, delivering to both Elected Members’ and Officers’ requirements. Within the AV and Broadcast Function.

– To maintain and develop the hardware and software utilised in the broadcasting of Council democratic process out into the public domain.

– To undertake regular system patching and upgrades to AV equipment, editing software and pre-production links to ensure optimal performance, reliability and PSN compliance.

– To maintain the ICT AV estate as deployed into public facing environments.

– Providing 3 rd line support to other teams for the resolution of member and customer incidents, requests for service and requests for change.

Key Responsibilities

1. Within an agreed framework, takes responsibility for the provision of maintenance and support services for allocated product or technology.

2. To operate as a recognised specialist resource in terms of expertise in a specific product or technology.

3. Implements processes and procedures, tools and techniques for managing the performance of an allocated ICT product and contributes to its continued performance.

4. Supports incident and problem resolution activities for assigned product or technologies.

5. Analyses and repairs technical faults on equipment and systems relating to broadcast production.

6. Work and liaise with other operational teams and the wider technical community in order to diagnose and fix service affecting issues.

7. Ensure that regular system patching, and upgrades are undertaken to ensure PSN compliance.

8. Support activities of internal, contracted personnel or third parties who are providing services or performing work within the allocated platforms or services. 9. To contribute to the safe integration of new software solutions without disruption into the production environment.

10. To use the allocated product in the delivery of the wider Democratic Services function.

Experience

1. Five years relevant work experience within a technical ICT support or Service Desk environment.

2. Product expertise in one of the key applications for the delivery of the Service Support and/or Client Device Management function. E.g SCCM, SCSM, InTune. 3. Has achieved high levels of proficiency in the task of Service desk and incident management – , OR: Has gained experience (typically five year’s full time or equivalent) as technical team leader demonstrating a good understanding of the use of ICT systems, and has substantial experience of handling user contact.

4. Demonstrable ITIL and organisational skills, appropriate to the management services delivered in a multi-tenanted & multi-tasked work environment.
