Care Officer

Seven Social Care is looking for a Care Officer to fill an exclusive opportunity in Hull.

The role:

This role is for a care officer to support a family within their home but also to take the young person out on activities in the local area.

The young person is living at home and needs a care officer to take her out for activities at least twice a week but probably 3 times a week.

This role will also be to support her mum around behaviour management. Also to complete diary sheets after every visit . To work in partnership with the social worker and with the children’s home who can offer support and advice.

Key Responsibilities:

To contribute to the normal development of the children and young people through the provision of a healthy lifestyle, a variety of appropriate stimulating activities and a consistent and caring adult role model.

To ensure children and young people are cared for in such a way as to maximise choice, dignity and individuality. To be alert to signs of distress or abuse, and to ensure that the children and young people are monitored and protected both within and outside the home.

To be sensitive to the needs of individual children, taking account of race, culture, language, religion.

To practice in accordance with the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedures.

To talk and listen to children, and to observe their behaviour, and record significant features.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Degree approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
  • Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS.
  • Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
  • Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
