Category Procurement Lead

Seven Social Care is looking for a Category Procurement Lead in Hammersmith and Fulham.

The role:

      Achieve the best outcomes for residents, value for money and compliance when sourcing goods, works and services.

Lead category management, market testing and e-procurement.

Provide professional procurement and commercial advice to the Assistant Director Procurement and Commercial, the Director of Finance, SLT and Members.

Support Members responsible for scrutinising performance and procurement, as required by the Director.

Create and develop an annual strategic long-term plan for the development of the category. Analyse data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends regarding the category, develop and maintain the category forward plan on a quarterly basis.

Lead on the procurement of high value and strategic contracts within the category.

Provide effective support and advice across departments about procurement and purchasing, corporate contract processes and procurement training.

Oversee category specialist/s and cross functional teams to ensure compliant procurement. Build and drive relationships with key stakeholders.

Assist contract managers in building relationships with suppliers to improve pricing and quality of services and to develop an exit strategy for underperforming contracts.

Develop and implement procedures and practices that enable the Council to meet its policy objectives including the efficiency requirements of the administration.

Liaise with the London Centre for Excellence, London Procurement Networks, West London Alliance, and other key bodies to ensure that the council implements best practice . 

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will need to:

 

      To lead on corporate procurement matters and provide high-level advice to the Assistant Director Procurement and Commercial, Director of Finance, elected Members and SLT. To attend Member meetings, Scrutiny Panels and SLT as required. To make policy recommendations concerning procurement.

To prepare complex and detailed reports, briefing notes, external correspondence, publicity and publications, and other material as required.
