Chef – Adhoc Shifts

Seven Social Care are looking for a skilled and passionate chef looking for a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact. We have an exciting position available at our Specialised Rehabilitation Unit in Bacup that could be the perfect fit for you.

Location: Bacup

Hours: Ad Hoc Shifts – weekdays, weekends and bank holidays 

Pay: Weekday: £12.50 Weekend: £13.50 Bank Holiday: £15 

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a creative and talented chef who can play a pivotal role in enhancing the well-being of our patients through nutrition. As the Chef, you will be responsible for designing and preparing balanced, nutritious, and appealing meals tailored to each patient’s dietary requirements and medical needs. Your culinary expertise will contribute to the overall recovery process, promoting physical and mental wellness.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with medical and dietary staff to understand individual patient dietary plans and restrictions.
  • Plan and prepare daily menus that align with patients’ nutritional needs and preferences.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient preparation of meals, considering dietary restrictions and specialised diets.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to maintain high standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Source and select fresh, high-quality ingredients while managing the budget effectively.
  • Adapt recipes and cooking techniques to cater to various dietary requirements and restrictions.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen atmosphere, working alongside kitchen staff and other team members.

Qualifications:

  • Proven culinary experience, with a focus on nutrition and dietary requirements.
  • Knowledge of specialised diets, food allergies, and medical nutritional needs.
  • Ability to create balanced and flavorful meals that meet both dietary and taste expectations.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage meal planning, preparation, and kitchen operations efficiently.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptability and creativity to accommodate varying patient needs.
