Child and Family Worker

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary Child and Family Worker to work in Newcastle. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £14.71 (PAYE) or £18.12 (umbrella) per hour. The working hours are Monday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. 

The role:

To assist the Social Work Teams to deliver services to children, young people and families who are identified as in need of support, protection and care as directed by the Team Manager. The role will include gathering information for assessments, planning and support, direct work with children, young people, parents and the family network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support and work alongside Social Workers to gather information to enable comprehensive assessments to be completed which focus on needs, risk and support for families, including for example the completion of genograms, ecomaps, chronologies and Life Story Work..
  • Participate in supporting the duty arrangements within the Team and support with responding to crises when required.
  • Make referrals and signposting for specialist support services to support family needs and improve outcomes for children.
  • To support Social Workers and contribute to the development of Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, Child in Care Plans and Pathway Plans.
  • To undertake direct work with families and young people in the family home or other settings as required including practical support, using a restorative approach and professional curiosity, that responds appropriately to the needs of individual families, considering their capacity, diversity and cultural background.
  • To create and maintain constructive and empathetic relationships with children, young people, parents and families, offering direct support and a link with other sources of support within the community.

Qualifications:

      N/A. 

Experience: 2+ years working within a similar role. 

Compliance:  Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
