Child In Need/Court Social Worker

Seven Health & Social Care is looking for a highly skilled, compassionate, and qualified Child In Need/Court Social Worker to provide comprehensive support services to vulnerable children and families in Leicester. The incumbent will play a vital role in safeguarding children in need (CIN) and representing them in court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conducting thorough assessments of children’s needs, risks, and situations.

2. Collaborating with multi-agency teams such as healthcare professionals, educational institutions, and voluntary organizations.

3. Crafting and executing care plans in alignment with the Child In Need process under the Children Act 1989.

4. Representing children and their families during court proceedings, providing accurate and clear reports.

5. Providing proper support to parents and caregivers, assisting them in the implementation of created care plans.

6. Continuously monitor the impact of intervention and revising individual care plans to ensure the appropriate support is provided.

7. Taking prompt action whenever a child’s well-being or safety is at risk.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

1. A qualified Social Worker with a current HCPC registration.

2. Extensive experience while dealing with various child safeguarding issues.

3. Demonstrable experience in the courtroom, with the ability to write detailed, robust reports.

4. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of forming solid relationships with children, families, and other professionals.

5. Familiarity with child protection legislation and protocols.

6. Skilled in multi-agency working.

7. Able to manage a complex and varied caseload effectively.

8. Commitment to continuous professional development.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping vulnerable children and families, consistently putting their needs as a priority. Must be innovative, resilient and have great organizational skills.
