Child Protection Social Work Assistant

Seven Resourcing is working with Nottinghamshire County Council to recruit a Social Work Assistant for a Child Protection Team in Bassetlaw.

Pay £14.70 per hour Umbrella pay.

 

Job Purpose:

To work alongside Child Protection Service social workers and undertake specified work that does not need to be undertaken by a qualified worker, enabling work to be progressed more efficiently and ensuring best outcomes for children and young people.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Undertake direct work with children/young people and their families/carers as appropriate and agreed by the team manager.

Under the direction of the social worker, undertake practical support to children and families in crisis.

Under the direction of the social worker, liaise with NCC colleagues, partner agencies and other professionals in order to commission services, share information and keep all parties updated regarding circumstances and plans for children/young people.

Support the social worker to maintain accurate and relevant case records.

Maintain accurate and up to date written records

Take up opportunities for relevant training and development.

Participate in team activities e.g. team meetings, case discussions, review of team work.

Participate in regular supervision (individual and group supervision).

To ensure confidentiality of information in line with County Council policy and relevant legislation, in respect of records maintained and tasks undertaken.

This includes maintaining strict confidentiality in relation to personal information (including that of service users and other employees) which may become known in the course of work or associated activities.

To maintain effective working relationships and contribute to a working environment which is safe, considerate and supportive to all.

Also, in accordance with relevant legislation, to take reasonable care of own health, safety and welfare, and that of other persons who may be affected by the performance of duties.

Applicant Requirements:

 

Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ in Social/Health Care

Experience: 2+ years working with children as a Support Worker

Compliance: Up to date Passport and DBS.

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
