Child Protection Social Worker

Seven Health & Social Care are seeking a dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team in Bedford and North Warwickshire. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding children, promoting their welfare, and contributing meaningfully to improving their life outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work collaboratively with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.

2. Perform assessments and investigations where there are child protection concerns.

3. Develop, implement, and review child protection plans to meet the individual needs of children and families.

4. Provide written reports and contribute to case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings as required.

5. Deliver an effective service within legislative frameworks, policies, and procedures.

6. Maintain accurate and comprehensive case notes and other records.

7. Promote the rights of children and advocate on their behalf.

8. Provide crisis intervention as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. A degree in social work and registered with the Social Work England.

2. Significant previous experience in child protection including court work.

3. Understanding of current legislation, policy and procedures in relation to children and families.

4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills.

5. Ability to build and maintain relationships with children, families and professionals.

6. Working knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.

7. Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends as required.

8. Driver with own vehicle as travelling to different locations is essential.

Please note: The safety and well-being of our staff and service users are of paramount importance. Therefore, an Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
