Children and Families Social Worker

Seven Social Care is looking for a qualified Social Worker to fill an exclusive opportunity specialising in the wellbeing of children in Penzance in Cornwall.

The role:

We are looking for a Children and Families Social Worker who ideally has experience in Child protection. We require someone who can undertake assessments of need and risk, and work with partner agencies to ensure that care and protections plans are implemented. You will undertake statutory responsibilities related to Looked After Children and Young People.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake assessments of need and risk and take a lead role in implementation of plans to deliver care, protection and support to children, young people and their families, and promote their wellbeing in the community.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to build the capacity of people using services.
• Make assessments in relation to child protection referrals, carry out investigations and make recommendations related to child protection procedures, respond appropriately to any risks to achievement of the plan.
• Assess and make recommendations about whether compulsory measures of supervision are necessary.
• Assess and make recommendations about whether a child should be accommodated away from home.

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualifications: A degree in Social work or equivalent as recognised by SSSC
• Experience: 2+ years working with children as a qualified Social Worker
• Compliance: Up to date SSSC registration and PVG.
• Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
• Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
