Children Social Worker

Seven Social Care are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Children Social Worker to join our team in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will work alongside a highly skilled team in providing comprehensive assessments, interventions, and support to children and families within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform investigations regarding the welfare of a child and assess their situation.

2. Provide emergency aid and support to children and young individuals in threatening situations.

3. Develop care plans for children under your supervision after assessing and establishing their needs.

4. Work closely and liaise with other professionals related to child welfare such as counsellors, psychologists and teachers.

5. Organise and provide counselling sessions to both children and their families to aid in their development and well-being.

6. Provide support in legal procedures when necessary.

7. Document cases, writing reports and updating on the current status of child support and well-being.

8. Advocate for the children’s rights and best interests.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Social Working Qualification such as a degree in social work, nursing, psychology or related fields.

2. A minimum of 3 years of experience working in child protection or relevant field.

3. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) – UK.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

5. Strong emotional resilience as the job may involve dealing with complex and challenging cases.

6. Excellent knowledge of the laws and ethical codes pertaining to children’s rights and protection.
