Children Social Worker – Children In Care Team

Seven Social Care are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Children Social Worker for our Children In Care Team based in Liskeard, UK.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Manage a caseload of children in care, including assessing their needs, planning their care, implementing plans, and reviewing progress against agreed aims.

2. Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals, ensuring that the child’s voice is central to any decision making.

3. Providing advocacy and support to children in care, aiming to ensure that they are fully involved in decisions about their lives.

4. Compile clear and concise reports for reviews, meetings, and court proceedings.

5. Identify risk and ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.

6. Apply relevant legislation, guidance, and policies, keeping up-to-date with any changes and developments in the field.

7. Engage with a wide range of services to negotiate and coordinate provision for children in care.

8. Provide crisis support and interventions as necessary.

Qualifications/Experience:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work is required.

2. Must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

3. Previous experience working with children in care, fostering and adoption services, is essential.

4. A comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework relating to children and families.

5. Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and other professionals.

6. Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in IT.

7. Experience in working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment.

8. Ability to adopt a resilient approach to challenging circumstances.
