Children Social Worker – Children In Care Team

Seven Social Care is looking for a qualified Childrens Social Worker to fill an exclusive opportunity specialising in the wellbeing of children within the Looked After Children Team across Liskeard.

The role:

As a Childrens Social Worker within this team you will contribute towards the provision of a Social Services in community, residential, alternative and Health Care settings. To provide a social work service within the policy and practice procedures of the Department.

The pay:– £34.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

· To provide the social work service of assessment of need

· Care planning

· As appropriate, child protection investigation, to prevent the separation of children from their families.

· Ensure that children and young people are adequately protected in line with departmental policy, procedures, and relevant legislation.

· Support alternative permanent care for children who must be separated from their families in a timely fashion.

· Supervise fostering / adoption arrangements.

· Assess and manage the risk involved in protecting vulnerable children and young people.

· Distinguishing levels of risk for different situations to prevent harm and abuse.

Applicant Requirements:

• Qualifications: Degree in Social Work
• Experience: 1.5 min years working with children as a qualified Social Worker in the UK.
• Compliance: Up to date SWE registration and DBS.
• Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
• Hours: 37 hours p/w.
