Children With Disabilities Team Social Worker

Seven Social Care are currently in search of a dedicated and talented Social Worker to join our Children With Disabilities Team in Hillingdon, UK. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

Responsibilities:

1. Undertake assessments of children with disabilities and their families, identifying needs and designing packages of support to promote and safeguard the welfare of children.

2. Carry out risk assessments and give professional advice on safeguarding matters.

3. Apply relevant social work theories and research findings to inform your practice and continually seek to improve the quality of services provided to service users.

4. Collaborate with other professionals including therapists, health professionals, and teachers to ensure holistic care and support for the child with disabilities and their family.

5. Provide emotional support and deliver therapeutic interventions where necessary.

6. Maintain accurate records and produce professional reports for a range of audiences including child protection conferences, case reviews, and court appearances.

7. Advocate for the rights of children with disabilities within the education, health, and social care sectors.

8. Lead, participate in and coordinate multi-agency meetings to ensure consistent and effective communication between all parties involved in a child’s life.

Qualifications:

– A professional qualification in Social Work and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

– Proven experience working with children with disabilities within a similar role.

– Knowledge and understanding of the legislative and policy framework relating to children with disabilities, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.

– Pragmatic problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary / agency teams.

– Superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and other professionals.

– Ability to manage a complex caseload, maintain records, and produce reports to a high standard.

– Experience in working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
