Children’s Social Worker

Seven Health & Social Care are seeking an experienced and passionate Children’s Social Worker to serve in Kirkby in Ashfield, committed to improving the lives of children and young people.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Manage caseloads involving the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate action to ensure that appropriate resources are utilised effectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

2. To work closely with families, offering them appropriate support and counselling with the goal of improving the home environment and the child’s wellbeing.

3. Regularly review and analyse cases of children to ensure their needs are accurately assessed and provided for.

4. Create comprehensive reports that include detailed observations, assessments, and suggested interventions.

5. Collaborate with other professionals such as teachers, medical professionals, and legal authorities for case assessment and support.

6. Prepare and present case reports for legal action and participate in court proceedings on behalf of the child.

7. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to enhance the welfare of the child and work towards improving local safeguarding procedures.

8. Develop and maintain professional relationships with children and young people, engaging them in decision making about their lives and promoting their rights.

Key Qualifications:

1. A recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW/CQSW) 2. Registered with Social Work England 3. Post-qualification experience in child protection and children’s services 4. Excellent knowledge of child protection legislation and understanding of child development 5. Strong written and verbal communication skills 6. Resilience and emotional strength to deal with challenging situations 7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team 8. Enhanced DBS clearance
