Children’s Social Worker

Seven Social Care are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Children’s Social Worker to join our team in Margate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high level of support and expert guidance to children and their families within the community, working in collaboration with other professionals to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Identify and assess the needs of children and families at risk to determine the appropriate level of intervention.

2. Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate care plans and strategies in collaboration with other professionals.

3. Respond to reports of child neglect or abuse and take the necessary steps to ensure that the child’s safety and wellbeing is prioritised.

4. Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions to children and their families.

5. Prepare and present reports to statutory review panels and court hearings.

6. Maintain accurate and well-organised case records, adhering to departmental processes and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

– Must hold a Degree in Social Work (BASW, MSW) or an equivalent qualification.

– Must be registered with the Social Work England (SWE).

– A minimum of 2 years’ experience in children’s services.

– A strong understanding of the UK child protection system and the Children Act 1989 and 2004.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to manage a heavy caseload and prioritize tasks.

– Sensitivity and understanding towards the needs of vulnerable children and their families.

The successful candidate must comply with an Enhanced DBS Security Check before commencing with this position.
